Always confirm the policy with the retailer

Return windows in Returno are a convenience, not a guarantee. Retailers change their policies, run different rules for sale items, electronics, and holiday purchases, and may treat online and in-store orders differently. The retailer’s current published policy always wins, so check your receipt and give yourself a buffer rather than arriving on the last afternoon.

How does Returno know a store's return window?

The app ships with a reference list of common retailers and their standard return windows, and applies the matching one when you enter a store name. You can change the window on any purchase, and you should whenever you know better than the app does.

My store isn't recognized. What happens?

Returno flags it as an unknown retailer, applies a conservative 30-day default, and asks you to confirm. Set the correct window on that purchase and it will count down accurately from there.

When do reminders arrive?

For returns, you get one a week before the deadline (when the window is longer than a week), one the day before, and one on the morning of the final day. For warranties, you get one 30 days before and one a week before coverage ends. They all arrive at 9am your local time.

I'm not getting notifications.

Open iOS Settings, then Notifications, then Returno, and make sure Allow Notifications is on. If you turned down the permission prompt when you first saved an item, this is where to switch it back on. Your saved purchases are fine either way, and you can also see each item's upcoming alerts on its detail screen.

Does it work without an internet connection?

Yes, always. Returno never needs a network connection. Receipt scanning, policy lookup, and reminders all run on your iPhone.

The scan read my receipt wrong.

That happens sometimes, since receipts vary a lot and printing is often poor. Returno never saves what it read without showing you first. Anything it isn't sure about is marked with an orange warning triangle on the review screen. Just fix the field before you tap Add.

What happens if I delete the app?

Everything stored in it is removed, including receipt images, and it can't be recovered. This version keeps no cloud copy. If you're changing phones, make sure your device backup includes app data before you delete it.

What does the free version include?

Four active tracked items at once, with full receipt scanning, all three return reminders, and the Home Screen widget. Items you've marked returned or kept, and items whose window has passed, don't count toward that. Only live countdowns do.

What do I get with Returno Pro?

Unlimited tracked returns, warranty expiry alerts, Insights showing what you've recovered, Lock Screen widgets, and Family Sharing so one subscription covers your household. It's $19.99 a year, and it starts with a free 7-day trial.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Returno Pro starts with 7 days free. You can cancel during the trial and you won't be charged. Cancelling is done in the iOS Settings app under your name, then Subscriptions.

Can my family use one subscription?

Yes. Returno Pro supports Family Sharing, so up to six people in your Apple family group get Pro from a single subscription. Everyone still keeps their own purchases on their own device, because nothing syncs between them.

How do I add the widget?

Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen until the icons jiggle, tap Edit then Add Widget, and search for Returno. For the Lock Screen, touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, then tap a widget slot. Tapping the widget opens the item it's counting down.

My widget is empty or not updating.

The widget shows your soonest active deadline, so it stays empty until you've saved a purchase that is still on the clock. iOS also decides when to refresh widgets, so it can lag by a few minutes. Opening the app updates it right away.

How do I manage or cancel a subscription?

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and you can change or cancel from there. Refund requests also go through Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
